My Captured Moment #16 – Experimenting with my new camera

For this week’s My Captured Moment I tried something slightly different. Instead of holding the camera with my hands, I put it on a chair and used my phone as a shutter release. My little one was completely fascinated by this and I found that she behaved a lot more naturally in front of the camera than she normally does. As I wasn’t “hiding” behind the camera, but was standing next to her, she seemed to be so much more relaxed.

Haha, thanks Sammy! Playing around with the camera settings was lots of fun.

Oh my gosh Heidi, that is a totally genius idea!!! If you don’t mind I might have to try this too. My girls always put sulky faces on unless I catch them unawares and your picture us fabulous, because as you say, she was far more at ease without you behind the lens! Fab moment to capture. It’s so hard to get good pictures with our little ones, isn’t it. I find the posing extremely difficult. I’ll definitely experiment more with this method – instead of using a chair, I might use a tripod :-). Would love to see your pictures if you give this a go! Thanks for commenting Steph.

That is a great idea, and so much easier. I might try this with Joe he acts silly when I am trying to take photos this is the perfect solution x

Ooh this is a great tip!! I’m defiantly going to try this technique as my two are always telling me to put my camera down. And the result is great, love this photo. Thank you so much for linking up to #MyCapturedMoment xxx
