Book Review: Disney Frozen and Disney Princess Art Therapy

Colouring and painting is something our little girl enjoys very much. Most afternoons, she will pick up her paint brushes and colour away on her little masterpieces.

I’ve heard so much about art therapy colouring books (mainly for adults) lately, but have never tried these myself. When we received an email from Parragon about their range of Disney themed art therapy books , I jumped at the opportunity to review.

When the books arrived, our little girl and I were similarly excited and eagerly ripped the parcel open. Needless to say her eyes were shining when she flicked through the pages to find her favourite Frozen characters and Disney princesses. We straight away put these books to the test and started colouring.

I am very much impressed by these books. Yes, they are aimed at slightly older children and adults, but our little girl still enjoyed them very much and I was surprised by how long these kept her entertained. Some pictures are a lot more detailed than others, so choosing one that “works” for her wasn’t that hard. We were both colouring together, but as you can see from the picture, the wasn’t too happy with the bits I had coloured and decided to draw on top of them.

After she went to bed, I decided to find one of the more detailed pictures and spent quite some time colouring. Did I feel more de-stressed afterwards? Yes, I think so. Although I will not do this activity every evening, I can understand the excitement about these books.

Disclosure: We are Parragon book buddies and received these books as part of the programme, but all opinions are our own.
