Book Review: No Turning Back by Tracy Buchanan

You’d kill to protect your child – wouldn’t you?

When radio presenter Anna Graves and her baby are attacked on the beach by a crazed teenager, Anna reacts instinctively to protect her daughter.

But her life falls apart when the schoolboy dies from his injuries. The police believe Anna’s story, until the autopsy results reveal something more sinister.

A frenzied media attack sends Anna into a spiral of self-doubt. Her precarious mental state is further threatened when she receives a chilling message from someone claiming to be the ‘Ophelia Killer’, responsible for a series of murders twenty years ago.

Is Anna as innocent as she claims? And is murder forgivable, if committed to save your child’s life…?

No Turning Back was one of the 2016 releases I was highly anticipating. I’ve devoured both of Tracy’s previous releases and had big expectation for her third book. To say  I was NOT disappointed is probably still an understatement. No Turning Back is spine-chilling, breath-taking and utterly addictive! When I started reading this book, I had only planned on reading a few pages, but before I even knew it, I had raced through several chapters.

As soon as I read the back cover of No Turning Back I was intrigued. You’d kill to protect your child – wouldn’t you? What a moral dilemma!! I found Anna to be one of the best female lead characters I have ever read about. I empathised with her in the beginning, then started doubting her and half way through didn’t know what to think anymore. Tracy Buchanan definitely keeps the reader on their toes throughout this whole novel.

The ending took me by complete surprise. I was expecting lots of different outcomes, but certainly not this one…

This book is fantastic, so incredibly in-depth and simply brilliant! I know that this story will stay with me for a very long time.
